Itís been quiet for the past few days with regards to Windows 8, but that doesnít mean Windows 8 fanatics have stopped working. Italian website Windows8Italia have opened a .dll file that hints Microsoft will incorporate Kinect technology into Windows 8. It should come as no surprise that Microsoft will try to find overlaps in its Kinect technology with its other product lines, considering how ahead of the time its technology is.
For those unfamiliar with Kinect, it is a camera-capture device for the Xbox 360 that uses human movement as an input device, substituting the controller. The Kinect also has a unique feature which allows users to log into their Xbox Live account with face recognition.
Leaked slides also show that this was something Microsoft had in their sketchbooks initially:
The Next Web also mentionedthat Microsoft did state it did promise PC support for the Kinect.
It would be interesting to see if Microsoft would incorporate this as a universal log-in feature in conjunction with their Cloud service. It would be quite amazing to see Microsoft be one of the first players to push the Cloud service forward and put it into mainstream use.
